Anita Storman and Arthur Mesler Carter were married on Sept. 8, 1903 in Tuscon, Arizona. A marriage announcement in The Oasis (Arizola, AZ), Sept. 12, 1903, p.8, said that the bride was the daughter of "the late J. B. Storman, the well known Magdalena merchant." A. M. Carter was a mine operator from Sonora, Mexico.
Anita and Arthur appear to have divorced sometime in the 1920s. Anita spent a number of years living in Cuba. She and Arthur had two children: (1) Arthur Storman Carter, b. July 23, 1904, in Mexico or Goldfield, Nevada; changed his name to John Leighton; died Apr. 25, 1989, in Portland, Oregon; and (2) Anita Esther Carter, b. Sept. 10, 1905, in Goldfield, Nevada; m.
