Vitae Smith Dean beloved mother and grandmother passed from this life on March 14, 2001 at Schumpert Hospital. Mr. Dean was born in Haynesville, La. on March 21, 1903 and resided in the Shreveport area for fifty-five years. For the past six years, she made her home at the Glen Retirement Village. She was a member of the Church of Christ for eighty-three years. Mrs. dean was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mittie Smith, Her husband, William Caleb Dean, Son, Alvis Dean, two daughters, Katie Haddox and Corinne Taylor Two grandsons, Terry and Richard Dean and two granddaughters, Brenda Young and Susan Embree. She is survived by two sons, three daughters, sixteen granchildren, forty-one great grandchildren and twenty-seven great great grandchildren.
