George was the son of the late Albin P. and Virginia SNOW Gaylord. He married Gertrude Huling in Chicago, IL October 14, 1901. He and Mrs. Gaylord were the parents of Margaret Gaylord Brunker Ruppel and Gertrude Gaylord Moran. He was also the brother of Clifford W. Gaylord, Mrs. C. Fauntleroy, and Mrs. Virginia G. Gute.

According to a US City Directory for Pasedena, CA in 1937, George was the Secretary-Treasurer of the Latisteel Corporation and living at 639 Rosemont Avenue in Pasadena with his wife, Gertrude. He and Mrs. Gaylord divided their time between Neenah, Wisconsin and Pasadena.

George was the founder of the Menasha Carton Company, who was widely known among Wausau, Wisconsin businessmen and dairymen for his pioneering in the manufacturing of cartons and containers for the shipping of butter. He came to Menasha in 1912 to establish the company. In 1917, it was merged with the Menasha Printing Company and the new firm was known as the Menasha Printing and Carton Company. The merged firm was absorbed by the Marathon Corporation, now a division of the American Can Company, in 1927 and operated under the name of the Menasha Products Company. Mr. Gaylord remained with the new firm until 1932, when he retired and moved to California. Survivors include his wife, Gertrude, and two daughters.

In our Black Family Tree, George is my husband Bruce's 2nd cousin, 2x removed.
