Pauline Cox, 87, Aurora, Mo., formerly of Independence, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, in the Aurora Nursing Center. Mrs. Cox was born June 14, 1916, in Milo, Mo., to Thomas Robert and Bertha Edna (Beck) Ray. She married Albert Cox on Sept. 7, 1932, in Mound Valley, Kan., who preceded her in death in 1996. She was a retired office manager for Farmers Insurance. She was a member of Aurora United Methodist Church, and Queen Esther Chapter 202, Order of the Eastern Star, serving as worthy matron in 1986, and district deputy grand matron for the 55th district in the Grand Chapter of Missouri in 1992. She was also a member of the Aurora Community Hospital Auxiliary. She was also preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. Her survivors include a son, Thomas E. Cox, Aurora; a daughter, Kay Lea and husband, Frank, Branson, Mo.; a brother, Thomas R. Ray, Sunrise Beach, Mo.; three granddaughters, Lori Parkhill and husband, Ken, Dunlap, Ill., Wendy Weddle and husband, Jon, Peoria, Ill., and Debbie Wrinkle and husband, Eric, Fayetteville, N.C.; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Burial in Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.
