Michael Sheehan Passes Away at Sacred Heart
Nearly everybody in Hill county will be shocked to learn of the sudden death of Michael Sheehan, at Sacred Heart hospital, early yesterday afternoon. He was known to all the old timers and respected and loved by everyone.
The news of the death came as a distinctive shock for the reason that Mr. Sheehan has always been in perfect health and was on the streets greeting his many friends and acquaintances no later than Thursday afternoon.
For a few days he was suffering with what he termed "a hard cold." It developed into pneumonia but is was not until 11 a.m. yesterday that he was induced to go to the hospital. Two hours after his arrival there he had passed away.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Catholic church at 10 a.m. on Monday.
Michael R. Sheehan was born at Florence, N. Y., Sept. 28, 1850, and was married June 20, 1888.
Surviving him are his widow, Esther Sheehan and children: George R. Sheehan, Omaha, Neb., Mrs. Mary Beaurdreau, Seattle, Mrs. Katheryne Card, Seattle, and Mrs. Anna Carnal wife of Florian A. Carnal of Havre.
Thirty-five years ago Mr. Sheehan came to Montana and located in Butte. Five years later, or thirty years ago he came to the vicinity of Havre and located on a Milk river ranch, west of town. Eight or ten years ago he located on a smaller ranch just across the river and almost within the city limits, where he resided until the time of his death.
He has always been an admirer of fine livestock and introduced some of the best breeds to Hill county. Besides his ranch property Mr. Sheehan was the owner of 100 head of horses and cattle besides houses and lots and town property in Havre.
Ever since Hill county has had a public highway Mr. Sheehan has efficiently served as County Road Supervisor.
