Willie Gertrude Payne Montgomery, born September 23, 1925, died peacefully in the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 14, 2021. She was born in Hale County, AL to parents, Dolson William and Siddie Lee Meggs Payne. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, William Edgar "Ed" Montgomery, Sr.; daughter, Gertrude Montgomery Murray; son-in-law, Hugh Fogarty; siblings, Dennis, Ira, Woodrow, Karl, Alfred, Oscar, infant, Wanda Sue Payne, and Ruby Nell Tilly. She is survived by her daughter, Dolores Fogarty; son, Eddie Montgomery (Denise); grandchildren, Kim Murray, Jarrod Fogarty, Kellie Wilson (Mark), Alison Holland (Jeff), Christy Heeter (Todd), Kyle Murray (Jenny), Amanda Lund (Marcus) and Carly Stringer; great-grandchildren, Patrick Fogarty, Paige Fogarty, Lainey Heubach (Caison), Cole Holland, Benjamin Wilson, Elizabeth Wilson, Meadow Heeter, Anna and Abby Murray, Raylan and Ella Kate Lund, and Kyler Boxley; great-great-grandchildren, Christian, William, and Nora Heubach; brothers, Kenneth Payne and Fred Payne; sisters, Bernice Morrison and Barbara Gilley; and many nieces and nephews.
