INTERLOCHEN - Myrtle E. Kuerth, 60, of Interlochen, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002, at Munson Medical Center.
She was born in Bendon on May 4, 1942, the daughter of John A. and Sarah (Hall) Sikorski. On Sept. 14, 1963, she married Bernard P. Kuerth in Traverse City.
Myrtle was a homemaker who very much loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting and gardening.
She is survived by her husband, Bernie; son, Kenneth John Kuerth of Interlochen; daughters, Tina Marie (Craig) Shattuck of Kingsley and Laura (Gary) Verheek of Manistee; grandchildren, Amanda and Justin Shattuck, and Christine, Ashley, Matthew and Jennifer Verheek; her brothers, John Sikorski Jr. of Interlochen, Roland Sikorski of Grand Rapids and William Sikorski of Glenwood Springs, Colo.; and her sisters, Edna Rineard of Holton, Sandra Witkop of Interlochen, Shirley Witkop of Interlochen, Nancy Bower of Interlochen, Barbara Kleeman of Cadillac and Phyllis Snyder of Eastlake.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Timothy Allen; her brothers, Michael and Fred Sikorski; and her sisters, Velma Witkop, Betty Jane Remeta and Kathleen Collingwood; and her parents.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at the Grawn Bible Methodist Church, 7640 U.S. 31 S., Grawn. Pastor Paul M. Bundy will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Green Lake Township.
