Julia Paxman Sloan Neslen,at the age of 88 passed away in Salt Lake City,Utah on January 4th,1986.Julia was born on October 29th,1897 in Nephi,Utah to the parents of Julia Sudbury and James W.Paxman.Julia married her 1st husband Edgar Lloyd Sloan on May 29th,1925 in the Salt Lake Temple in Salt Lake City.He passed away on September 12th,1938. Julia had two children by this Marriage.Bruce Paxman Sloan and Irene Sloan Shaw. She married her 2nd husband C.Clarence Neslen on May 20th,1950 (Former Salt Lake Mayor) in the Salt Lake Temple.She took good care of him in his decining years.He passed away on December 6th,1967 in LDS Hospital.Julia was an active member of the LDS Church serving in the Sunday School,Relief Society and the Y.W.M.I.A.Member of the ESTLMA.
Julia is survived by her two children,Bruce(Tonya) Sloan of Salt Lake,Irene(Bob)Shaw of Bountiful,Utah,Nine Grandchildren,step children Robert(Margaret) Neslen of Santa Barbara California, Trudy Bennion(Adam) of Sana Marina ,California, and Charles R.(LeVern)Neslen of Salt Lake City,Utah,Step daughter in laws Leon Neslen of Salt Lake,Eleanor Neslen of Balboa,California. Also survived by two brothers Walter J. and Samuel Paxman,and one sister Louise Pyper,14 step Grandchildren and several step Great Grandchildren.Funeral Services were held on Tuesday January 7th,1986 in the Larkin Mortuary located at 260 East South Temple in Salt Lake City,Utah at 12 noon.Interment took place following Funeral Services in the Salt Lake Cemetery on 4th Avenue and N Street in Salt Lake City,Utah.
