LAST RITES READ FOR J. W. GUINN
AT OLD BETHEL
Funeral services for John Walton
Guinn, 78, were held Thursday afternoon
at 3 o`clock at the Old Bethel Church with
rev. B. W. Wages officiating. Interment
was in Old bethel Cemetery under the
direction of Hilliard & Sons Funeral Home.
Mr. Guinn died at 7:55 a. m. December 17,
at his home on Route 2, Canton. A farmer
and life-long resident of the Canton area,
he was married to Modine Woolverton in
Myrtle Springs on January 17, 1925.
Pallbearers were his nephews, Bill
Carter, D. B. Carter,Eddie Guinn, Lonnie Guinn,
Johnny Bates,and James Bates.
Survivors include his wife of Canton; eight
sons, Hugh Guinn of California, W. L. Guinn of Lindale,
J. C. Guinn of Grand Saline, W. V. Guinn, Mafes Guinn,
and Allen Guinn of Dallas, J. B. Guinn of
Jacksonville, Elzie Lee Guinn of Mesquite;
nine daughters, Mrs. Mabel Jenkins and
Mrs. Grace painter of Grand Saline, Mrs.
Dora Mulligan of Missouri, Mrs. Virginia Hazel
of Fruitvale, Mrs. Julia James of Longview,
Mrs. Frances Guinn of Canton, Mrs. Nora may
Turner of Eustace, Mrs. Lois Guinn of Dallas,
and Mrs. Marie Turner of Seagoville;
two brothers, Jimmy Guinn and Eddie Guinn
of Grand Saline; one sister, Mrs. Bertie
Carter of Grand Saline; 39 grandchildren
and 35 great-grandchildren.
