DEATH COMES TO ORD WOMAN

Mrs. William S. Bannister , aged 78, Dies After Illness od Several Weeks

Death came early to Mrs. William S. Bannister, a resident of Ord for a quarter of a century. She had been ill for several weeks. Funeral services were held were held from the home conducted by Rev. J.A. Moorman and interment was in Ord cemetery beside the body of her husband.

Catharine Barbara Linn was born June 20, 1850 at New London, Ia., where she grew to womanhood. On Febr. 18, 1872 she was united in marriage to William S. Bannister . Eight children were born to this union , one son dying in infancy. The other children are Miss Eva Bannister and Mrs. Elizabeth Drake, of Ord, Will and Roy Bannister of Great Falls, Mont., Mrs. Iva Rogus of Wolbach, Mrs. Blanche Lamberton , of Costa Mesa, Calif., and Mrs. Inez Hull of Gothenburg. She also leaves eight grandchildren, a sister, living at Sharon, Mass. , and a host of friends. Mr. Bannister preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 1928.

Soon after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Bannister moved to Nebraska and settled on a farm near Greeley, coming to Ord about 25 years ago. During the early years of their married life both united with the Methodist church and remained true to their faith. For many years Mrs. Bannister was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. At various times, she held office in the local chapter and was a valued member though for the last few years her health prevented her taking an active part in the work.
