He married Iva Jackson in 1904; she died in 1919. In 1920, he married Mary B. "Molly" Jackson at Bedford; she survives.
Mr. Sears worked as a machinist at the Monon Shops in Lafayette from 1916 until 1927, and he was employed in the same capacity at Bedford with the Indiana Limestone Co. His last employment was as a machinist with the Indianapolis Machinery and Supply Co. from 1940 until his retirement in 1945. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Bedford and the International Association of Machinists Local 181 in Lafayette.
Surviving with his widow are a son, Harlan E. Sears of Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Annis Jackson of Plainfield; and a granddaughter, Mrs. Fred Slopsema of Lafayette. Service Sept. 3 at Hippensteel Chapel, Lafayette, the Rev. Joseph G. Wick officiating; internment at Green Hill Cemetery, Bedford.
