Funeral services were held Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church USA in Fayetteville for Evelyn Eakin Bagley of Fayetteville, who died Thursday (Aug. 1, 1989) in the Bedford County Hospital following a long illness. She was 62.
The Rev. Bill Shouse officiated. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery beside her late husband, Sam O. Bagley.
A native of Bedford County, she was the daughter of the late James D. and Cary Meade Eakin Sr. and a member of the First Presbyterian Church USA.
She is survived by a daughter, Cary Sullivan of Fayetteville; two sons, Scott Bagley of Arlington, Va., and David Bagley of Howell; three sisters, Milbrey Eakin of Shelbyville, Rowena Hart of Stanford, Ky., and Virginia Williams of Elizabethtown, Ky,; a brother, Derry Eakin of Shelbyville; and three grandchildren.
