Charity E. Stamm, 86, of Minerva, died October 23, 2002, in Mercy Medical Center, following an extended illness. She was born May 15, 1916 in Malvern to Daniel and Pearl (Davey) Birney. She was co-owner/operator of Stamm Radio and TV for 32 years and had worked at St. John's Villa Restaurant for 10 years. She was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Malvern.
She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Severn of Minerva, Karen (Thomas) Jones of Minerva; one sister, Sarah Hatch of Hubbard; two brothers, James Birney of Minerva, John Birney of Malvern; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Stamm, who died March 3, 1975; and two sisters, Catherine Morris and Eleanor Vernables. Funeral services were held Monday at the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Wallace Anderson officiating. Burial was in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
