Obituary: Troy Miller
Troy Miller, 82, formerly of 614 West Logan, died of a heart attack Tuesday at a hospital at Redwood City, Calif. For the past two months he had been visiting his daughter at her home in Redwood City.
He was born at Danville, Ill., on March 14, 1891.
For 50 years he was a machinist for the Wabash Railway Co., and had been retired for 15 years. He had lived at Moberly since the early 1900's.
Mr. Miller was a member of the Central Christian Church, a member of the Moberly Masonic Lodge, the Royal Arch Chapter of Moberly, the Tancred Commandery at Moberly, the Eastern Star at Moberly, and he was a member of the Centralia Council No. 34 at Centralia.
He was also a member of the Wabash Cannonballers.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie, on January 21, 1973.
Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Robert (Mildred) Hanson, of Redwood City, Calif.; one grandson, Bill Hanson, Burlingame, Calif.; and one granddaughter, Linda Hanson, of the home at Redwood City.
The body will arrive at the Cater Funeral Home late Thursday.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Arthur Landolt at the Cater Chapel at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, with burial at the Oakland Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will begin at 2 P.M. Friday. There will be a Masonic service by the Moberly Lodge at 7:30 P.M. Friday. (Src: Moberly Monitor Index, December 26, 1973)
