Clayton Howard Pruitt, 76, of 22 Hillside Drive in Cartersville, died Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at Cartersville Medical Center.
A native of Bartow County, Mr. Pruitt was born April 13, 1931, to the late James William Pruitt and Mary Irwin Pruitt. He enjoyed fishing, camping, skiing and was a ham radio operator. Preceding him in death are his parents and his first wife, Jane York Pruitt.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Willena Pruitt of Cartersville; daughter and son-in-law, Lori Pruitt and Phil Duclos of Cartersville; son and daughter-in-law, Tracy and Cindy Pruitt of Cartersville; stepchildren, A.J. and Diane James of Rocky Face, Karen and Buddy Anderson of Cohutta, Jo and Calvin Seay of Chatsworth and Carlton and Kay James of Chatsworth; sister, Mary Ann Windsor of Cartersville; brother and sister-in-law, James Griffin and Vi Pruitt of Milpitas, Calif.; grandchildren, Amanda Fleming of Chatsworth, Jacob Pruitt of Cartersville, Bonnie Rowland and Max Rowland, both of Cartersville, Shannon Green of Chatsworth, Selena James of Chatsworth, Chris Short of Chatsworth; special niece, Starla Windsor of Cartersville and several other nieces and nephews
Services are today at 3 p.m. in the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Mansfield officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home today at 2:15 p.m. and will include Mark Windsor, Larry Windsor, Robert Windsor, Jeff Duncan, Shawn Teems and Phil Frazier. Larry Owens, Don Starnes and Joel Guyton will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family received friends at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home Wednesday.
