Mrs. Turfitt was a member of the St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church, and was Circle Chairman for the Women of the Church. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Orleans Club and the Fine Arts Club of New Orleans.
Mrs. Turfitt is survived by her husband, Myron Turfitt; a daughter, Margaret Ann Turfitt Lindsey; a brother, Wayland Dixon; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian church, 1545 State St. Burial will be in Garden of Memories. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp funeral home.
