Lillian (Cody) Varley, 91, formerly of Windsor, beloved wife of the late Frederick Varley died Tuesday, (August 16, 2005) at a local nursing home. Born in Hartford, daughter of the late Oliver and Rose (LaChance) Cody she lived in Windsor most of her life. She was employed by Fuller Brush Co. for many years and retired from Travelers Insurance Company in 1978. She was a communicant of St. Gertrude's Church Windsor.
She leaves two granddaughters, Sally Gagne and Donna Andresen both of Broad Brook and three great grandchildren; two brothers, Arthur Cody of Bloomfield and Ernest Cody of West Hartford; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two daughters, Sally Kozlak and Judy Remp, a step-brother, Alfred Cody and three sisters, Alice Allen, Rose Dineen and Viola Cody. The funeral will be held Friday, Aug. 29, 9:15 a.m. at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. at St. Gertrude's Church in Windsor. Burial will be in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery. Her family will receive friends TODAY from 5-7 p.m. at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
