Elizabeth B. Slahorek, 95, St. Joseph, Missouri, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, at a local health care center.

Mrs. Slahorek was born Jan. 23, 1912 in St. Joseph, where she resided all her life.

She married Joseph Frank Slahorek. He preceded her in death.

She worked for Englehart-Davis Hat Factory and Keller Furriers before retiring.

Mrs. Slahorek was also preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Mary (Gregorski) Wegenka; and her brother, Jerry Wegenka.

She was a member of the St. James Catholic Church.

Survivors: her son, George J. Slahorek of St. Joseph; four sisters, Mary Hilgert of Omaha, Neb., Ann Sudo of Tennessee, Genevieve O'Brien of Springfield, Mo. and Rose Watkins of Columbia, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m. Tuesday, St. James Catholic Church. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday. A Parish Rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
