DORAN, Va. – Mrs. Arleen Gilbert, age 56, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2004 at a Richlands hospital following a short illness.
Born in Richlands, she was the daughter of the late William and Ruby Keen Stanley Sr. She was a member of the Lester’s Chapel Holiness Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Ann Hunt.
She is survived by her husband, Fred Gilbert; one daughter, Lisa Rasnick and husband Scott of North Tazewell, Va.; one sister, Vickie Webb and husband Tommy of Martinsville, Va.; two brothers, William Stanley Jr. and wife Rachel of Martinsville and James Stanley and wife Lori of Bassett, Va., and one granddaughter, Ashleigh M. Rasnick of North Tazewell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2004, at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff, with Rev. Mike Altizer and Rev. Ed Lester officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Whited and Whitt Perkins.
