Conrrado Contreras, age 78, of Odessa, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 13, 2012. He was born in Banderas Dist., Bravo, Chihuahua, Mexico on February 17, 1934 to the late Luis and Francisca (Aguilar) Contreras. He was a retired construction worker.
Mr. Contreras was a dependable, hard worker, who never missed a day of work. He never complained and was a good friend who treated everyone well. He was gentle and loving and praised the Lord in all he did, singing hymns to His glory. He loved to kiss foreheads and give God's blessing to others. Some of his favorite things were hamburgers and crossword puzzles. He also loved his animals. His family was important to him and he enjoyed being with them. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
Those left to cherish his memory are his four sons: Humberto Contreras of El Paso, Isaac Contreras, Jorge Luis Contreras and Francisco Contreras, all of Odessa; six daughters: Estela Contreras, Rosa Maria Granados, Soledad Jasso, Irma Aguirre, Elodia Contreras and Martha Renteria, all of Odessa; twenty-three grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Iglesia Apostolica de la Fe en Cristo Jesus with Pastor Eliacer Nino officiating. Interment will follow at Los Angeles Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
