James William Yates, age 87, died October 28, 1990 in El Cajon.
Born October 29, 1902 in Lakeside, Utah to Nellie Gerrard Yates and Joseph Yates, Jr. Married Naomi Davis on September 7, 1927 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Survivors include his wife; a daughter, LaVon Arlene Fairchild of Palos Verdes, California; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also, two sisters and a brother, Lillian Whitaker, Lucy Hollie, and Harvey Yates all of Bountiful, Utah. Preceded in death by a son, Gordon C. Yates; two brothers, George Yates and Nephi Yates; and a sister, Daisy Hayes.
Graveside services in Salt Lake City on Saturday, November 3rd, at 1 p.m., Salt Lake City Cemetery (West Plat #3; junction of Main & Hillside), 4th Avenue and N Street. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, on Saturday, 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
