Death's Doings.
Wm. Western, a well-known farmer, who lived out the Hartsville pike, died Saturday night of pneumonia, aged sixty-nine years. The funeral took place at 1 o'clock this afternoon, the body being interred at Sand Hill cemetery.

William Western was the youngest of seven children of which four survive: one sister in England, a brother in Decatur County, and two sisters in Hamilton County Ohio. The father died when William was quite young and about 1828 his mother & two of his brothers and a sister emigrated to this country, settling in Cincinnati. In 1833, William & another sister came, also settling near Cincinnati. He farmed and gardened until fall of 1841, when he came to Bartholomew County and settled on his present homestead.
In Cincinnati on May 16, 1841, William married Mary A. Boon, native of Roscommon County Ireland, who with 5 children (the Boon Family) came and all lived in the immediate neighborhood.
William Western united early with the Methodist Church. He was a member of Clifty Chapel until its disorganization.
