Obituary: DEATH OF MRS. FRED ENGEMANN. Mrs Fred Engemann, died at her home near Wathena, Sunday, September 1, at 2:30 o'clock P. M., her age being 52 years.
She had been in poor health for the past six weeks. The cause of her death was heart trouble and blood-poisoning. During her illness she had been taken care of by her family, and the last two weeks her sister, Mrs. Rosa Maag nursed her.
She is survived by her husband, one son, three daughters, two sisters and eight brothers.
She was a member of the German M. E. Church. Her funeral was said to have been one of the largest in this vicinity, in the procession here were 84 teams.
The funeral was held Tuesday, Sept., 3 from the Smith Creek Reform church, at 1:00 P.M.
Services were conducted by Rev. P.W. Matthaei. Burial was at Smith Creek cemetery.(Src:
