Ruth's second marriage was to her first sweetheart, who attended the French Grove School eight miles north of Elmwwod with her. His family had moved to Missouri when he was 17 years old and he promised to come back someday to "get her". After a separation of 46 years Victor MacRill who was also a widow and after a suggestion by his sister who still lived in Elmwood, contacted her through a letter.
A second letter followed and later a phone with a proposal. The couple then moved to the home of Mr. MacRill in Upland, California.
She is survived by a daughter Dorothy Clark, son-in-law Norman and grandson Donald.
