EDWIN M. WOODARD
Edwin M. Woodard of Florence, 73, died July 21, 1995, after a battle with cancer. he was born Feb. 23, 1922, in Corning, N. Y., to Cassius and Edith (Williams) Woodard.
On May 7, 1958, he was married to Alta Snyder Woodard, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Woodard served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He also held a private pilot license and experienced the joy of his first solo flight in 1981, in Cleveland, where he and his wife lived for 31 years before moving to Florence. Mr. Woodard was an avid HAM radio operator for many years. He was especially proud of the role he played in bringing the Bear Paw golf course to the residents of southern Colorado.
He is survived by two daughters: four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, John (Doris) Snyder of Canon City; and two sisers-in-law: Peggy (Bill) Lennox of Florence and Virginia Kissell of Pueblo. An uncle and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, July 25, 10 a.m. at Union Highland Cemetery in Florence, with Brother Andrew Glaves officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sangre De Cristo Hospice West, 513 W. Third, Florence 81226. Arrangements by Charles Anthony Funeral Home in Florence.
