John Steen, 64, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Community Hospital in Torrington, Wyo. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at All Saint's Episcopal Church with Reverend Mary Jellison officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery in Torrington. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that memorials be made to All Saint's Episcopal Church or the Parkinson's Disease Foundation. John was born Dec. 12, 1947, in Scottsbluff the son of Don and Jeanne (Jirdon) Steen and grandson of John R. Jirdon of Morrill. John graduated from Morrill High School and attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. He married Peggy Knittel in Omaha, Sept. 25, 1982 and became the proud father of Beth in 1985. John was a member of the All Saint's Episcopal Church.
John will be remembered as a loving husband and father and as a generous friend to many. His hearty laugh and great sense of humor will be missed.
Survivors include his wife Peggy of Torrington and daughter Beth of Minneapolis. Preceding John in death were his parents and brother Billy.
