Mrs. Mariah Biddle, who has been a resident of this city for the past twenty years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Tolbert Johnson, at 2218 Jacob Street, shortly after one o'clock yesterday afternoon. She was in her 84th year and had enjoyed remarkable good health for years. Her demise was due to the ailments incident to old age. Her death removes the last member of the family who held the distinction of being the first settlers of New Matamoras, Ohio. She was born in Greene county, Pa. where she made her home during her youth. She lived at New Matamoras for a large number of years, after which she removed here and has since made her home with her daughter. Deceased became a member of the Baptist Church at the age of 14 years, and remained a steadfast and devoted member until the time of her death. The surviving chidren are Mrs. Maggie Shapley, of St. Marys; John Biddle, of New Matamoras, and Mrs. Ella McCord and Mrs. Grace Johnson of this city.
