Christian Brandt born in Germany in 1844 and was in the Texas Rangers. He was married to Emma Blieder and is buried in Boerne, Texas. (Otto) was the oldest son of Christian and was born in 1875.

CHRISTIAN BRANDT: Another one of our oldest and respected citizens, Christian Brandt, age 92 years, died March 3rd, 1937, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ida Sharman at Van Raub, and interment in Boerne Cemetery, Thursday evening.

He was born in Germany, but came to Kendall County (Texas) with his wife, when a young man, settling near Kreuzberg, where he remained for practically his entire life.

Mr. Brandt was in the Texas Ranger Service when a young man, and helped drive the Indians and outlaws from Texas.

He is survived by his wife and 10 children: Otto Brandt and Hugo Brandt of San Antonio, Mrs. Anna Jentuch and Albert Brandt of New Braunfels, Mrs. Lewis George of Hancock, Herman Brandt of Pleasant Valley, Mrs. Ida Sharman and Eddie Brandt of Van Rath, Emil Brandt of Rockdale, Mrs. Vernie Taylor of Hunt, 29 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The Star extends sympathy to the bereaved family."
