Mathilde was born to Alois and Anna(nee Vanicek) Kubicek, Country Czech Republic, South Moravian Region, District Brno. She was christened in the Catholic Church May 3, 1893. Her siblings were Mary Kubicek, and Leopoldine Kubicek (Pauline),and Henriette/Jindriska Kubicek, [half sisters Aloisie Kubicek, Ernestine Kubicek, & Josefine Kubicek, children of Alois and Franziska (nee ?) Kubicek (1857-1902)]. Mathilde and her three sisters were raised by their step mother, Franziska, as their mother died when they were very young (this is according to Polly Patton the daughter of Leopoldine).

Mary, Mathilde and Leopoldine were passengers on the USS Koeln, Norddeutscher Lloyd ship line departing from Bremen, Germany Feb 2,1902 and arrived in Galveston March 13, 1902. Their destination was Cameron, TX where they were sponsored by W. L. Baird, owner of a dry goods store and Citizen's National Bank of Cameron Cashier. Their younger sister, Henriette and step sisters remained in Czechoslovakia to my knowledge.
