Bessie died November 21, 1991 in Topeka. She was born May 11, 1893 to Moses and Myrtle Matthews Myers in Grayson County, TX. On August 29, 1912, she married Henry Filby. He preceded her in death in 1957. Survivors include three sons, Earl, Warren, and Kenneth Filby and three daughters, Myrtle Acker, Louise Scoggins and Edna Meyers.
