VAUXHALL — An event to
be remembered was the recent
giant Walkathon from Taber to
Vauxhall, a distance of 22 miles.Some 368 marchers started
out from the Co-Op in Taber and 223 completed the walk to
Vauxhall.They ranged in age from toddlers to 80-ycar-old Cas Postaloski who walked 12

POSTOLOSKI passed away at Taber on
Friday, August 29, 1969, Cassian at the age of 81 years,
Born at Podotsk, Ukrania, February 29, 1888. He arrived in North America thru Ellis Island, worked in Vegetable farms for several years, worked his way across the states. He came to Canada to B.C. in 1910, joined the C.E.F. Canadian Army during of the First World War and moved to Vauxhall in 1920 where he farmed until his retirement this past year. Cassian delivered vegetables to the Retlaw district and railway workers during the 1920's. Travelling a distance of 16 miles one way with horse and wagon and then later with a 1920's Model T.Survivers include his wife, Minnie, .Vauxhall; two sons, Fred, Vauxhall, Edward, Campbell River, B.C.; three daughters, -Mrs. Peter Forchuk, Vauxhall,Mrs. Jean (Milton) Waddle, Taber, Mrs.Kathie (Ron) Friesen, Taber; 11 grandchildren; one great grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted from Park View United Church in Vauxhall on Tuesday September 2 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Gordon Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Vauxhall Cemetery with Legion Graveside service. Humphries Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
