TWO WELL KNOWN LADIES LAID AT REST

The funeral of Mrs. Wm. J. Thomnas took place yesterday afternoon from the family residence on Turner street. Long before the time of the funeral many friends of the deceased assembled at the house and pased through the parlor where the remains were laid in a handsome black cloth-covered casket surronded by a wealth of flowers and took the farewell look at the departed whom they esteemed and loved in life. The services were conducted at the house in the presence of a large concourse of relatives and friends. Rev. J. H. Griffith of St. Peter's Episcopal Church officiated, and was assited by Rev. L. O. Knipp of the Christian Church. There were many beautiful floral tributes from the family, relatives and friends. The pall beaers were John D. Jones, John Phillips, John Miller, Arthur James, David Phillipsw abd Edward Jenkins. Interment was made in the Shawnee cemetery.
An error appeared in this column last evening where in was stated the the funeral of Mrs. Mary Jaquish was held yesterday morning. The error was made through no fault of the correspondent, as he was misinformed as to the day of the funeral. Thge funeral was held this morning from her home on Askley street. The services were conducted at the home at 10:30 and were conducted by Rev. L. O. Knipp of the Christian church of which the deceased had been a member for the past forty years. There was a large attendance at the services and the church choir sang a number of selections. The cortage was a large one and the concourse of friends and acquantances in attendance marked the popularity and the high esteem in which the deceased was held. Rev. L. O. Knipp preached a sermon at the house and paid a high tribute to the memory of the deceased, spoke of her long membership of the church and gave consolation to the family. At the conclusion of the services the remains were removed to their last resting place in Shawnee cemetery.
