Minuteman, Revolutionary Soldier
Aquilla Kimball was born September 28, 1755 in Bradford, MA, the son of Isaac and Elizabeth (Jewett) Kimball. He was a soldier in the Revolution,in 1775 he was in Capt. Gage's co., Fryes Regiment,J. Smith's Co., J. Whitney's Regiment in 1776, in 1777 he was in Samuel Johnson's Co., Titcomb's Regiment, in 1778, he was a sergeant in Gage's Co., Gerrish's Regiment, in 1780, he was in Jonathan Ayre's Co., Wade's Regiment. He married in Hollis, NH, March 15, 1781, Anna Tenney, the daughter of William and Ann (Jewett) Tenney of Hollis. Aquilla and Anna came to Rindge, NH previous to 1785. They settled on a farm in the south part of town near the MA state line on the Old Winchendon Rd. Aquilla and Anna had nine children. He died March 4, 1826, aged 71 years.
