(1813-March 27, 1877 –husband of Louisa Higgins –son of Abel Clark and Lydia Day –a brother to Ira, Isaiah, and Spencer Clark –born at Middlebury in Addison County, Vermont –veteran of the Civil War –enlisted in the Town of Cato on Feb. 13, 1862 with Company K of the Wisconsin 19th Infantry Regiment –after his re-enlistment, he was transferred on May 1, 1865 to Company A of the 19th Wisconsin Infantry –mustered out on Aug. 24, 1865 –he had blue eyes, black hair, and stood 5'9" –from May of 1855 to Jan. 25, 1856, Samuel owned the 67.28 acres of the fractional W1/2 of the NW1/4 of Section 18, Town of Eaton –from May 25, 1855 to March 18, 1857, Samuel owned the 80 acres of the E1/2 of the SW1/4 of Section 9, Town of Eaton –he had purchased these 80 acres from his parents –from Nov. 28, 1856 to June 5, 1857, he was the post master of the Niles post office located at 20001 Highway 151 in Section 15, Town of Eaton –this post office was discontinued on June 5, 1857) –buried at the Old Clark Mills Cemetery, Town of Cato
