Joseph Westley Thornton, 53, a native of Cullman, Ala,; who had been a winter visitor in Tampa at 515 128th Ave., for many years, died here yesterday. Survivors include his widow, Vela Mae, three sons, Robert C. and James A., both of Miami, and Melvin of Cullman; four daughters, Mrs. Willie Lee Manning, here Mrs. Lee Dell Walker and Mrs. Faye Nell Lee, both of Cullman, Mrs. Sue Phillips of Killeen, Tex., and 11 grandchildren.
