Esther E. Kirschling, age 96, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI died Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital, Wisconsin Rapids, WI.
Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Father Jim Altman will officiate. Visitation will be held at Saints Peter & Paul Church on Thursday from 9:30-11:00 AM. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, WI is assisting the family.
Esther was born November 15, 1920 in Rudolph, WI to William and Maude (Trickle) Grunewald. She married Richard Kirschling on September 26, 1957 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. He preceded her in death on December 21, 2012. Esther briefly was employed at F.W. Woolworth, Consolidated Papers Inc. and Huntington House.
Esther was a member of the Red Hat Club, the Catholic Daughters of America, the Canasta Card Club and Senior Citizens. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting, gardening, cooking and especially spending time with her family.
Esther is survived by two sons, John (Judy) Eswein of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and Morris (Diane) Eswein of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; four grandchildren, Greg (Amy) Eswein of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Mark (Kari) Eswein of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Eric (Michelle) Eswein of Tomah, WI and Paul (Christina) Eswein of Melbourne, FL; eight great grandchildren, Luke, Austin, Allison, Collin, Ellie, Conner, Madalyn and Ethan; half-brother, Harold Grunewald of Nekoosa, WI and half-sister, Betty Heckman of Nekoosa, WI.
Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; brother, Floyd and his wife, Viola, half- brother, Bob Grunewald and ex-husband, Robert Eswein.
