Girtie/Gertie was the daughter of Amos Whitten Rodgers, Sr. and Elizabeth "Lizzie" May (Weis) Rogers. She died of tonsillitis at the age of 9.

She was born in 1901, not 1910 as her grave marker inadvertently reads.
