Only daughter of James Marion Anderson and his wife, Lorinda Triplett. A marriage license was issued by the city of Neosho, Missouri, on 11 July 1882, for J.M. Anderson and Laura Ann Triplett, but it was never returned or certified as having taken place. Three different Missouri marriage registers show the names but other spots are blank, meaning that the marriage (if it took place) was never recorded. So, we need to hope that someone has a Family Bible that will come to light out there.

Lura's maternal grandparents (Laura's parents) Ephraim and Mary Ann Triplett are also buried here at the Burkhart Cemetery. Ephraim Triplett married Mary Ann Hall on 01 Nov 1860 in Lafayette county, Missouri. On the 1870 census, 8yo Lorinda is the oldest child living with them. On the 1880 census, 18yo Laura is still at home. On neither record did they give a middle name or initial (Ann or A).

There is an unsourced online tree that states that Lura's mother died giving birth to girl twins (who were born and died on the same day). Newton county, Missouri, only kept pre-1910 death records from 1883 to 1885, though, so we're back to hoping for a family Bible. Lura was raised by her father and stepmother with three half -sisters.
