Hazel Baines

Hazel Cox Baines departed this earth on April 2, 2012, after a brief illness.

She joined her husband, Andrew "Buddy" Baines, who passed away in May 2004. She is now at peace with the angels. She was a precious wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Hazel enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and was a member of Eastern Star Chapter #57.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Nellie Maude Cox; sisters, Ruth Bowery, Louise Cox and Willie Dean Pitt; brothers, Howard, Opal, Alden and Weldon Cox.

Hazel is survived by daughters, Barbara (David) Carter, Judy Salyer and Rita Rogers; sons, Kenny (Donna) Baines and Allen (Teresa) Baines; grandchildren, Todd Carter, Joey Salyer, Letisha Summey, Brad Baines, Jimmy Rogers, Andy Baines and Eryn Baines; great-grandchildren, Kara Carter, Hailey Summey, Delany Rogers, Kyle Elizabeth Baines and several other great-grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Bruce; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, from 5-7:30 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Fall Branch.

Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, April 5, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist of Fall Branch Cemetery with Rev. Vic Wallace officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Todd Carter, Joey Salyer, Jimmy Rogers, Brad Baines and Chad Summey.

A special thanks to Dr.'s Dan Carroll and Sherry Barrett, Wellmont Hospice Caregivers, Ruby Jackson, Linda Hensley, and special neighbor, Zella Powers.
