Charles Lyon at his home on Central Avenue Thursday morning, March 5th, death was due to a complication of diseases arising from a stroke of apoplexy January 2. He has been an invalid for a number of years. He was 78 years of age.
Charles Lyon was born in St. Albans, Vermont in 1830. He resided at Ripon, Wisconsin, where in 1857 he was married to Agnes Titus Hershey and in 1859 they came to Faribault, making this city their home ever since.
He is survived by his wife, two stepsons, George Lyon and John Hershey and one daughter, Mrs. Albert Grant, all of this city.
The funeral was held from the home on Central Avenue, Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Mcelwain officiating. Two beautiful hymns, "Lead Kindly Light" and "Jesus Lover of My Soul" were sung by the students of Seabury. The pall bearers were: William Kaiser, T J. McCarthy, Frank Carrier, Mr. Millet, H. F. Kester and George Murphy. The burial was in Maple Lawn Cemetery.
