Mrs. Carrie Lee Mintz, 83, well known resident of Jones Avenue passed away at her home Tuesday, April 11. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon, April 13, at 3:30 at the First Baptist Church. The pastor, the Rev. Alex Hamil, will officiate, and interment will be at Rose Hill with the Freeman Harris Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The body will lie in state at the church from 2:30 p.m. until the funeral hour. Mrs. Mintz was born in Polk County on March 8, 1878, the daughter of the late Monroe Lee and Mary Roberts Lee. She had spent her entire life in Polk County and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Mintz, Sr., 24 years ago. She is survived by two sons, R. H. (Buddy) Mintz, Jr. and Lee Roy Mintz, both of Rockmart; two daughters, Miss Annie Bell Mintz and Mrs. Joe Swinney, both of Rockmart; seven grandchildren, Mrs. E. S. Jacobs of Hamilton, Ohio; Mrs. J. R. Hudson, Jr. of Charlotte, S.C.; Mrs. Capus Hansard, of Marietta; Mrs. Denny Garner, of Rockmart; and Duane, Donald and Stewart Mintz, all of Rockmart. Thirteen great-grandchildren and one sister-in-law, Mrs. R.E. Lee of Rockmart, also survive. Pallbearers will be Jim Randall, Milas Spinks, Frank Swinney, Guy Davenport, Red Scott, and Harvey Paschal. (The Rockmart Journal, April, 1961)
