Mrs. Marilyn Jordan Jackson, 79, 1881 Tolbert Town Road, Rockmart, died Friday, May 25, 2007. She was born March 20, 1928, in Rockmart, the daughter of the late Guy Wilfred Jordan and the late Essie Hudgins Jordan. She was a member of the Rockmart First Baptist Church, and a retired Rockmart High School teacher. A son, Guy Jackson, preceded Mrs. Jackson in death. She is survived by 2 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, David and Judi Jackson of Rockmart, and R. Olin and Judy Jackson, III of Marietta; 2 daughters and son-in-law, Patricia and Jimmy Hughes of Rockmart and Mary Oettinger of Friday Harbor, Washington; sister, Patricia Nixon of Doraville; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren also survive. The funeral service as held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 28 from the First Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Thompson officiating. Interment followed in the family lot of Rose Hill Cemetery. The following were asked to serve as pallbearers: David Jackson, Olin Jackson, Jimmy Hughes, Jim Hughes, Jordan Jackson, Birch Harrison and Tony Coalson.
