Solomon, Jr, was the third child and second son of Solomon and Eleanor Owens (Ownings) Geron, Sr. Solomon, Jr, and Charity Hinds were married on March 8, 1814. They had seven children: Minerva Galatt (6-4-1816), Simeon (5-21-1818), Marena Connado (1-12-1820), Claiborne (1- -1822), William W (9-4-1823), Jehu W (6-4-1825), Alfred (4-10-1827).

Solomon, Jr, was a Sergeant in the Madison County, Missippi (Alabama) Militia, ordered into service to repel an invasion of hostile Creek Indians in 1813. In 1914, as a Private in the Mounted Volunteers, he was a pack-horse guard in transporting supplies.
