Fred H. Butzin, 74, Leavenworth, died Tuesday morning, Dec. 15, 1987,
at his daughter's home in Leavenworth. He had been in failing health
several months.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Paul's Lutheran
Church with the Rev. Gerald E. Todd, pastor, officiating. Burial will
be in Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tursday at
the Davis Funeral Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30
to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Mr. Butzin was born Dec. 11, 1913, in Leavenworth, a son of Frank W.
and Emma Schultz Butzin. He was a carpenter and a building contractor
before he retired. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where
he served as an elder, trustee and chairman. He was a member of the
Carpenter Union No. 499.
He was married to Anna Wilma Jenicke on May 28, 1938, in
Leavenworth. She preceded him in death Sept. 20, 1984.
He is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Mary Lou and Bela
Hamilton, Leavenworth, and Joan and Harry McComas, Shawnee; a son and
daughter in law, Donald and Susan Butzin, Wilmington, N.C.; two sisters
Helen Rogers, Columbus, Ga and Elsie Reeves, Louisana; and four
grandchildren, Susan McComas, Tempe, Ariz., Mike McComas, Shawnee, and
Matthew Butzin and Amy Butzin, both of Wilmington.
He was also preceded in death by a brother.
The family suggests memorials to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or the
American Cancer Society.
