Miles Earl Ridley passed away unexpectedly leaving behind his beloved wife America and children Cleo Wilburn, Altha Cumille, Exie Hazel, Dewey Wade and one unborn child as well as his mother, Bethania Ridley, sister Samantha and brother Silas. He was preceded in death by his father James Monroe Ridley.
Mr. Ridley was a respected farmer and whiskey maker who worked hard to support his family. After his crops were harvested each year, Mr. Ridley would make three runs of whiskey. The first run was made for area farm and mid wives to be used for medical purposes treating everything from coughs to injuries and infections. The second run was sold to his neighbors providing extra money for his family for Christmas and to buy seed as needed to plant his next years crops. The third and final run each year was made for his wife to use in candy and cakes and for his mother to use throughout the year for medical needs as she delivered babies all over the region.
Mr. Ridley saw to it that each of his children, including his daughters, received the best education available and he was a much loved husband, son and father.
