GRACE DODD passed away on March 25, 2004. She was born on August 15, 1921 in Noonday, Texas, the youngest of nine children. Grace left East Texas with her new husband, James Dodd after a short courtship of six weeks. The whirlwind romance led to a marriage of 61 years. She is survived by her loving family: husband, James Dodd; children, James Brent Dodd and wife Judy of Pearland and Leslye Dodd and husband Don Anderson; granddaughter, Tammy Childers and husband Steve; great grandchildren, Randy and Lauren Hurley of Houston; sister, Mae House of Tyler; and many nieces and nephews. Quick witted and private, Grace fiercely fought Multiple Sclerosis for 20 years, refusing to let it interfere with her independence. Thanks to the wonderful care of her nurses, she was able to stay in the house that she loved until she was called to her Lord in Heaven. Many thanks to Ollie, Theresa, Shirley, Delores and Odessy Healthcare for their devotion. We thank God for the many years that we shared her life. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Monday, March 29, 2004 at The Settegast-Kopf Co. Funeral Directors, 3320 Kirby Drive. Following a private family interment, a memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, 11612 Memorial Drive @ Blalock. Charitable donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Lone Star Chapter, 8111 N. Stadium Dr., Ste. #100, Houston, TX 77054.
