ACCIDENT FATAL TO EUGENE KELLY
Eugene Kelly, 12, years old son of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis C. Kelly, of Belmont, died in Memorial hospital, Marietta Monday morning of fatal injuries received in an auto accident Sunday evening in front of his home. The youth was struck by a car driven by Martin Bayles of Eureka, who was driving on State Route 2.
The Kelly boy in company with three other boys were watching a passing train and on returning stepped into the side of the Bayless car. The handle of the door struck the boy in the waist cutting him several inches.
In addition to his parents, the boy leaves two brothers William and Dean and sister Pearl all at home. He attended the Belmont Public School.
Funeral service was conducted at the Belmont church by Rev. T. J. Hickle assisted by Rev. Wilmoth, Wednesday afternoon. Burial was in the Ruckman Cemetery at Styron.
