Swedish Adventurer and Mountain Climber. There are famous mountaineers. There are world-renowned polar explorers. There are legendary cyclists, skiers and sailors. And then there was Göran Kropp, the Swedish adventurer who climbed the world's tallest peaks, biked across continents and travelled to and across the world's most forbidding landscapes unassisted, with no outside help. He climbed the Mustagh Tower (1990) and the K2 (-91). Along with his girlfriend, Renata Chulmska, he concured the Shisma Pengma in 1997. But he was most famed for his expedition to Mount Everest. He packed all his climbing equipment on his bicycle, biked from his home in Jönköping, Sweden to Nepal, carried alone all equipment and food to the base camp, climbed Mount Everest without supplemental oxygen, and biked home again! His last adventure was to the North pole by ski with his companion, Ola Skinnarmo. Unfortunately an accident forced him to quit and withdrawn. Prior to his death he was planning to row to the Antarctica from Sweden. But he was to meet his destiny in the US state of Washington, in a quite trivial accident. Cause of death: Killed in climbing accident at "Air Guitar" on the Sunshine Wall ouside Seattle.
