Col. Samuel "Sam" Henry is the son of Smauel Henry and Margaret (Bryan) Henry.

He was the husband of Charity E. (Fennell) Henry. They were married on Sept 18, 1856 in Marshall County, Alabama, and they had at least five children together by their marriage:

(1) James F. Henry (born about 1858 AL)

(2) Margaret Henry (26 Mar 1859 AL - 17 Aug 1886 AL)

(3) Elizabeth Henry (born about 1866 AL)

(3) Beulah Henry (1864 AL - 06 May 1929 AL), she married Evan Arthur Rogers.

(4) Elizabeth Henry (born about 1866 AL)

(5) Mary Henry (13 Apr 1866 AL - 15 July 1884 AL)

Col. Sam Henry died in Gadsden on the 21st after a long illness with dropsy.

He was sixty-eight-years-old and was one of the wealthiest citizens of Etowah County.

He was a cousin and brother-in-law of our esteemed citizen Albert G. Henry.
