Joseph Blochers will:
In the name of God Amen, I Joseph Blocher of Dark County in the state of Ohio being sick and weak in body but of sound mind considering the certainity of death and the uncertainity of the time thereof and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs and hereby be the better prepaired to leave this world when it shall please God to call me hence do therefore mak and publish this my last will and testament in maner and form following that is to say and after my death I Joseph Blocher want you my son Henry Blocher as an executor over all my property which I want you to rent the farm out after the renters time is up which rent my wife Elizabeth shall have to live on and also have the house i know live in and the spring and milk house and half of the garden and half of the fruit of this place are also such property as much as she needs and also so ??? own ????? own youngest son came of age I want you my son Henry to make a private sale of all my sons property where I want you to set a time for said sail so that all my sons ans sons in law and daughters may ?end if possible and offer to sell to either of them if ?herent to the highest bider be the buyer and for the first you have to sell to pay all my debts and for what should be needed with a credit of nine months and a note given with good security on the day of sale an if you have sold for what is needed and also needed for my wife Elizabeth you shall then sell again to them all the over ?lu?? of sons property and take a ?rait account of all amounts of such sale whoes amount shall stand so ???? our youngest son Frederick comes of age and then you shall sell my said farm on publick sale which the one third of the value shall be paid ????? on say of possession into the hands of my wife Elizabeth if she wishes for it to be paid where out our son Frederick shall draw three hundred and twenty five dollars for which all has drawen it at first and the balance to be paid in tw (sic) hundred dollars yearly till paid each note given on the day of sale with good security which such money and such amounts as aforesaid shall be divided equeal (sic) among all my children in testimony where of Joseph Blocher ? to this my will consisting of one sheet of paper where in set my hand seal this fourteenth day of April in the yeat of our lord one thousand eight hundred and fourty two. And I Elizabeth his wife bind myself in the presence of this witnesses agree with all above mentioned Signed sealed published and declared by Joseph Blocher the above named testator as and for his last will and testament in the the presence of us who at his request and in his presence have subscribed our names as witness thereof. I Joseph Blocher being satisfied that there is a lack in the thirds of my beloved wife Elizabeth in the foregoing will in consequence of the three hundred and seventy five dollars which is to be paid to my son Frederick when the place is sold in lieu thereof I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth one note on Samuel Blocher my son dated April fifteenth AD 1842 amount of said not one hundred and ninety seven dollars and eighty five cents made payable to my wife Elizabeth also on note one David Blocher my son dated April fifteenth 1842 amount of said note sixty five dollars and eighty one cents made payable to my wife Elizabeth in testimony whereof I Joseph Blocher have here unto set my hand and seal an the same sheet of paper and such my will is written to which I refer to in this. This fifteenth day of April AD 1842. Joseph X(his mark) Blocher signed in presence of James Polly, Jacob Roberts.

Personally came into open court Richard Manning and John Miller subscribing witnesses to the last will and testament of Joseph Blocher late of said county deceased who being duly sworn depose and say that the (sic) where present at the execution of said will that they saw the testsator sign and heard him acknowledge the same as his last will and testament and that the time of the execution thereof said testator was of full age of osund mind and memory and not under any restraint sworn to and subscribed in open court the day and year first above written. Personally came into open court James Polly and Jacob Roberts subscribing witnesses a codicil to the last will and testament of Joseph Blocher late of said county deceased who being duly sworn depose sign and heard him acknowledge the same as a codicil to his last will and testament and that at the time of the execution thereof said testator was of full age of sound mind and memory and not under any apparent restraint sworn to and subscribed in open court that day and year first above written.
